On August 30, a concert at Wyndemere brought more than 100 people to the community. Resident Les Wiberg, president of the Residents’ Association, and his wife Mary were instrumental in bringing the string quartet, composed of members from the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, to Wyndemere.

This has come as such a blessing to us,” said Les Wiberg. “And it’s all thanks to the DuPage Foundation and the Chicago Symphony Orchestra for coming together to put on a great show and cocktail party for the residents at Wyndemere.”

Several residents at the community are involved with a local philanthropic organization, DuPage Foundation, and that group partnered with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra to bring the string quartet to Wyndemere. The DuPage Foundation helps area residents and organizations realize their unique charitable goals, provide impactful support to the community’s not-for-profit organizations, and foster key partnerships to address critical issues affecting DuPage County.

“The residents at Wyndemere are passionate,” said Kelly Berger, Wyndemere activities and programming director. “They make the community the great place it is.”

The concert was followed by a Q & A session with the musicians and a meet-and-greet cocktail and appetizer party in the parlor.

“It was an honor to have the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and representatives here on campus,” added Berger. “Our residents made this event happen. It’s great to see them involved in the community.”
